Asbury Stembridge, Owner

W. Asbury Stembridge, Jr., FACHE

Executive Partner

Asbury was born in Frankfurt, Germany while his Dad served in the Army. His family relocated to Cordele, GA and later to Macon. Asbury is an alumnus of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance.

Both Asbury and his wife, Helen, are former members of the College of Business Advisory board for GSU. Asbury and Helen have been married for 46 years and have two children and three grandchildren. Asbury is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a former board member of the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives, a past president of the Georgia Society for Physician Services and Recruitment (a society of the Georgia Hospital Association), a former healthcare lobbyist in Georgia, and a member of the National Association of Physician Recruiters. Asbury is also an accomplished humorist and corporate speaker focusing on healthcare humor. He is the author of the comedy book, “You Know It’s Time for a Second Opinion When…” found on the Humor tab of this website.

Jesse O. Weatherly (“Jay”)

Principal/Co-Founder

Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, he attended the University of Alabama, and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Health Care Management in 1978. Jay attended graduate school at The University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) and successfully completed the two-year program in 1980, with a M.S. in Hospital Administration.

Stephen C. Nyquist (“Steve”)

Principal/Co-Founder

Born in Los Angeles, he also lived in Atlanta for five years before spending his teen years in Western Europe. Steve graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in 1982 with a B.A. in Political Science. He also earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1990 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in the northern Chicago suburb of Deerfield, IL.

Cooper Nyquist

Financial Analyst

Cooper Nyquist was born and raised in Cullman, AL. He attended the University of Alabama, and graduated in 2014 with a B.S. Degree in Political Science. Cooper has worked with Salient MD since his graduation, and serves as the Financial Analyst for our various revenue cycle related activities. Cooper loves music, and sports in every dimension!

John Nyquist

Business Development

John was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Cullman, Al. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 2011 with a Degree in Healthcare Management. John has extensive healthcare administrative experience with various healthcare enterprises.

For the past six years John gained invaluable exposure to the healthcare recruiting industry and brings that expertise and related giftedness to Salient MD Agency. John’s focus is on developing relationships with physicians and representing them throughout the placement process. He is married to Audrey Nyquist who is a bilingual speech language pathologist and has three sons: Pryor, Jack, and Paul.

Scott Wentzell

Business Development Associate

Scott was born and raised just north of Boston, MA. After High School he attended a small state School, Fitchburg State College, where he earned his B.S. in Industrial Electronics. Scott brings experience from many different backgrounds: Telecommunications, Advertising, and for the past 6 years, Healthcare.

Phillip Langston

Business Development Associate

For just over 20 years Phillip has been instrumentally involved in the operations of a variety of healthcare operations ranging from inpatient hospitals to independent physician practices. He has focused on the development of a strong operations team supporting the clinical care delivered and ensuring a premier patient experience.

Building on his vast experience across the healthcare delivery environment, he will be focused on identifying Physician Locum Tenens and Permanent Placement opportunities for Salient MD. Further, he will be directly involved in the selection of quality physicians to fill essential roles for our hospital clients.

Robyn Hampton

Business Development Associate

Robyn earned a B.A. Degree in Health Science, and is finishing her Master’s in Health Administration. Throughout her career she has enjoyed developing strong business relationships, and looks forward to helping those in the medical field bridge gaps and find solutions. She holds integrity and ethics to the highest standards, and envisions a movement in healthcare that will improve the lives of both patients and healthcare providers. Robyn is passionate about achieving the perfect partnership between physicians and healthcare facilities. She believes healthcare has the power to change lives when the goals of physicians and healthcare executives are appropriately aligned.
